Offered for sale is an original first-generation Geländewagen Spare Tire Cover. This soft cover fits W460/W461 original spec tires of 205/80 R16. The diameter measures approximately 32 inches. This spare tire cover is from a 1985 W460 300GD and comes complete with the wooden inner protection plate.
Genuine, vintage used original equipment that shows minimal signs of major wear. It does have an area at the 11:57/12 Noon position where the stitching has become unraveled. However, this is not an actual hole, just loose threading. It has various small nicks, small signs of surface, and general wear expected for a vintage 40+ year old accessory. This soft cover is a perfect discontinued/NLA part for a period correct restoration of your G. It does not come with any wheel mounting hardware or other components except for the inner protection plate. It is being sold as-shown/as-is, 8.5/10 condition.
